What is the NRTL Certification For?



The NRTL programme, authorised by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), gives independent third-party Certification Bodies the authority to certify that your products are safe for use in North American and Canadian markets.



What is an NRTL?



A Nationally Recognised Test Laboratory is a certified private sector test centre that has been approved by OSHA (The Occupational Safety and Health Association) as being competent in meeting their test requirements.


For electrical devices, electrical products and electrical systems used in the workplace an NTRL is needed to issue an NRTL Certification.



Who 's Responsibility is NRTL Certification?



As outlined by OSHA, the employer is responsible for making sure all electrical products, devices and systems are NRTL certified for use in the workplace.


However the manufacturer would be responsible for securing the testing and certification of products in order to gain access to the North American and Canadian markets.

NRTL Certification for Electrical and Electronic Devices



The NRTL Certification is required for electrical/electronic devices that are intended to be used in the workplace and for access to in North American and Canadian markets.
